Our Grace Filled Journey

About

Hello!  My name is Misty!

I am a stay-at-home mom to 3 amazing kids, 2 boys and 1 girl.  I have also been blessed with a fabulous daughter-in-law.

Our Family

We have a very lazy beagle who is in love with sleep and food.  Eli has been known to snatch a pb&j right out of an unsuspecting hand held a little too low to the ground.

We live in central Kentucky, but are Louisiana natives. While we call Kentucky home, we can’t seem to break hold of some of our Louisiana roots (not that we would want to anyway.)

With both my boys grown and out of the house, I treasure the times when they walk in without knocking and raid the fridge or sit down to watch a football game with their dad.

What I am Passionate About

I homeschool our daughter and I love that we are constantly learning together.  I never thought God would call me to homeschool, but I’m so glad He did!

I teach Sunday School in a precious little country church.  My kiddos range from Kindergarten to 7th grade, but somehow we make it work.  They teach me something new every Sunday.

My husband and I both love sharing and teaching others what it means to live in community – where we build each other up, share our lives together, and share the love the Christ with each other.

We are on a journey to live healthier and more natural, toxin-free lives.  Organic, grass-fed, and hormone-free are terms we are learning to watch for; and essential oils are becoming a staple in our everyday lives.  Some days are more successful than others, but we keep plugging away at it.

I have a passion for encouraging moms, both in motherhood and in their own spiritual growth.  Being a mom is hard work, physically and emotionally.  As we tend to everyone else’s needs, our own needs tend to be placed on the back burner and our connection with Jesus ends up fraying before we even know it. I don’t have all the answers and I don’t have it all together; however, I know that if we walk this journey together, we will be stronger – together.

I have also discovered a passion for teaching, or maybe it would better put as sharing.  I love sharing a word or scripture God has laid on my heart or sharing the stories hidden in the pages of the Bible with my kiddos at church.

What I Have Learned Along the Way

Through it all, I have discovered that life is a journey.  There are twists and turns along the way.  Choices to be made, adventures to be had, and scrapes and bruises needing time heal.  But with every step God is always there with us.  Sometimes He is walking with us and sometimes carrying us; but, He is always extending the grace we so desperately need in the moment.

Thank you so much for joining us on our grace filled journey!

A Word of Encouragment

But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me.

2 Corinthians 12:9
